HK Transport Aps
HK Transport is a family-owned transport and contractor company. The company is based in Qaqortoq, the pearl and biggest city in South Greenland. The company was built in 1980 by our father, Kaj Nielsen, as a transport company. After several years, the company changed to Nielsen & Sønner ApS, where three of the sons entered the company.
In 2000 we undertook a generational change, whereas one of the three sons took the management, so today the company is called HK Transport ApS.
From 2018 we expanded our company area, so it also included bigger contractor projects, beside the transport business.
Today we proudly run a corporation, that is deeply rooted in the local community, with 20 employees and two apprentice. We have the courage and desire to expand the business in line with the development of mine industries, establishment of the new airport and new and bigger residential projects.

We are ready and we have the determination to invest further in the company so we can offer on the bigger projects, either in consortium with other companies or as a subcontractor.
One of the things that is close to our hearts, is the development of the Greenlandic community, and it is completely natural for us to have apprentices and grow the local labor, which is our integrated social responsibility. It means a lot to us, as a company, that the expansion happens in teamwork with the local population, so it’s a positivity for the Greenlandic community.
